Mello Yellow Citrus and Castle Old Chair
Mello Yellow- this is the legend that is melloyellowcitrus. in case your wondering, my name is officially, legally, and permanently:melloyellowcitrus. i am the drummer of theflashlights. i have basically created everything on this site. all of the links, the text, and everything is my work. castle is busy with his solo recordings right now, so we haven't really played in a while, but we have a record company idea. just wait and find out. i'll try to keep in touch as much as possible.
so, who is mello yellow citrus. i am the drummer of the flashlights. i have the legend known as sherman for a brother and castle is my cousin. i am a 15 year old virgin who loves to play music. i have taught myself almost everything i know about drumming. its only been a year and a half, but i certainly have a talent. when we started our first album, i was only 7 years of age. my hightone of voice played a major role in songs like philterfilter, witch way, and jump to the moon. actually, in jump to the moon, it sounds like a five year old girl saying "melloyellow". philterfilter and witch way was recorded October 23rd,1997 and jump to the moon was recorded December 17th,2001. from 1997 to 2001, i didn't even know that the flashlights still existed, but castle reminded me, so we began recording again. then, we went on a 9 month no music period for some reason. then, we recorded 2 of the best songs the flashlights ever made: My Arm Was, and There are People Living Under Ground. We then decided to continue with the music making process since we saw how good we were doing. so we went and made Magic Sreet, The Song that Never Ends, The Golden Girls Theme Song, and Jump! Jump! Jolley!! now we have big ideas as we continue on with the music making process: Improvation.

first time visitor to the flashlights? i'll give a little background. we're a band from Indiana. melloyellow is the drummer/background vocalist, castle oldchair is the guitar/bass/lead vocal person. our songs are based upon the music we create while in the process of improvation. currently, we are working on our 2nd album. our first album titled:The Flashlights is like nothing you've ever heard of. the type of music was instrumentally experimentational, meaning, we didn't have real instuments in the music. we used our voices, cups, chess pieces, and a guitar, just to name a few. now, we use drums and a bass to get the perfect sound. we may be through with the instrumental experimental stage of the evolution of the flashlights, but our new music still replicates the essence of what once was some of the most creative art forms of music. melloyellow, and castle oldchair
